ABOUT
As an avid reader growing up in a strictly religious family in the complex and rich cultural background of the American south, I found the fictional world of sapphic stories to be an escape from the life predestined for me.
The Athenaeum, a digital bookcase of free, well-written stories featuring women who love other women, often thrown heart-first into scenarios both great and mundane, was so liberating for me. I spent two years exhausting that content, yet I'd only just whet my appetite. To my dismay, there was a dearth of follow-ups outside of fanfiction. It seemed the only solution was to write.
There was just one problem: posting content is easy but writing well takes time, effort, and skill, none of which I possessed. Additionally, it goes without saying that sapphic stories deserve the same level of care, respect, and attention as their heterosexual contemporaries. Thus ensued a decade-long freefall into literary device and grammar, using fanfiction as a springboard for growth. I cut my teeth rather clumsily in The L Word fandom.

I'm a hopeless romantic, but I also have an incurable desire to build intricate worlds, challenge ideals, and engage with philosophy, ethics, and mental health. These appear to set me apart within the sapphic genre. Ultimately, I write what I want to read, and it's empowering to look back to my original efforts and compare them with my current abilities.
While I'm still nowhere near Brontë, Plath, or Lorde, it feels like it's time to take that leap of faith. I have three original outlines completed and a singularly talented editor. It's my plan to have a sample of my first fully original work, Whatever You Do, Don't Fall in Love with Your Wife, out for editing in 2025. Once completed, I will either self-publish or pursue traditional publishing. Additionally, I've begun my blog, Practical Advice on Literary Device for beginner writers, and soon, I'll throw in some travel blogging as well.
Aside from my aspirations, I love to chat philosophy, psychology, dogs, and technology. A telecommunications specialist by day, author by night, within the next few years I'll move my life out onto the open road to satiate my wanderlust as I offer up pieces of my heart through art.
Love or hate my work, I'm just glad you've found me. What a time to be alive. It's a privilege to share it with you.
